Organised by: DBT-APSCS&T Centre of Excellence for Bioresources & Sustainable Development, Kimin | 27 September 2023
In September 2023, Rohit Seth, President of Sugandh Vyapar Sangh, New Delhi, was invited as a Guest of Honour-cum-Invited Speaker at the Buyer–Seller Meet of Essential Oils for the Farmers of Arunachal Pradesh, held at the DBT-APSCS&T Centre of Excellence for Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Kimin, Arunachal Pradesh.
The programme was inaugurated and chaired by Shri Bamang Mangha, Hon'ble Chairman of the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science and Technology, Department of Science & Technology, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
The meet brought together farmers, local entrepreneurs, community representatives, industry professionals, government officials, and potential buyers, providing a platform to bridge the gap between producers and the essential-oil industry.
Rohit Seth had the opportunity to interact with local farmers and entrepreneurs and learn about their experiences, challenges, resources, and perspectives on the development of the essential-oil sector in the region. The interaction also provided an opportunity to share industry knowledge and discuss potential avenues for connecting local resources with wider markets.
He expressed his gratitude to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, the DBT-APSCS&T team, and FFDC, Kannauj, for organising the initiative and extending their warm hospitality. Special appreciation was expressed to Dr. Debajit Mahanta and the FFDC team for facilitating the programme.
The event was a meaningful opportunity to engage directly with the farmers and emerging aroma entrepreneurs of Arunachal Pradesh and to contribute to discussions around the development of the region's essential-oil and aroma ecosystem.
